Father Voelker was ordained a priest in 1966. He studied Chemistry at the University of Notre Dame and Theology at the Catholic University of America. He has held a variety of Parish and Archdiocesan Assignments including Director of Catholic Charities and was Director of Spiritual Formation for the Permanent Deacon Formation Program at the time of his death. He studied Spiritual Guidance at the Shalem Institute in Washington, D.C. and was active for many years in working with 12 Step recovery programs. For more than thirty years he was a living witness to the love of Christ.
Father is survived by his sister, Beverly Green; nephews, Rex Ralston (Patricia), John Ralston (Teresa); nieces, Elizabeth Green (Randall), Rebecca Cleary (Mark), Katherine Mahurin (Larry); 18 great nieces and nephews; 11 great great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Holy Cross Parish, followed by burial in the Priests' Circle of Calvary Cemetery.
