Dovie Slaughter
KERMIT - Dovie Mae Slaughter, 86, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 1997, in Kermit.Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Temple Baptist Church with burial in Kermit Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cooper Funeral Chapel.

She was born March 17, 1911, in Ardmore, Okla., and had been a 62-year resident of Kermit.She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Herman Slaughter of Kermit; a son, Jim Slaughter of Trinity, N.C.; three daughters, Christine Wright of Kermit, Veneita Evans of Point Pleasant, W.Va.,and Linda Engle of Venus; two sisters, Winnie Patton of Odessa and Lorene Ford of Wickett;
18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
