Marilyn Vironet Jarrett, 65, of
Yorktown, Ind., formerly of Fortville, Ind., died Sunday, May 27, 2001.
She was
born in Gas City, Ind. on July 21, 1935. She had a winter residence in Welaka.
She graduated from the former Fortville High school in 1953; she had a nursing
degree from Holy Cross School of Nursing, a Bachelor's degree from Saint
Mary-of-the Woods College and a Master's degree in gerentology from Ball State
University. She began her nursing career at Hancock Memorial Hospital in
Greenfield, Ind. She worked 33 years for St. John's Medical Center in Anderson,
Ind., retiring in 1993, as director of Psychiatric Services for the hospital's
Anderson center. She was also attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anderson,
Ind., and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Crescent City. She married
Jackie E. Jarrett on December 7, 1956.
She is preceded ion death by her
parents, Edmond Vironet and Virginia Crowell Amos.
She is survived by her
husband of over 44 years, Jackie E. Jarrett on Yorktown and Welaka; son, Robin
P. Jarrett of Fishers, Ind.; daughters, Paula S. Jarrett of New Palestine and
Lori L. Gunn of Greenfield; brother, William E. "Skip" Vironet of Clanton, Ala.;
half-brother, James Amos of Marion, Ind., Ind.; half-sister, Mary Phyllis Decker
of Jasper, Ark.; four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 1,
2001, at Ronald L. Seals Funeral Home in Fortville, Ind., with Rev. Robert
Williams of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in
Gravel Lawn Cemetery, also in Fortville. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 30
