Gina Renee Batson-Martin, 38, daughter of Gloretta Gann-Lurvey, was born April 20, 1962, at Fort Lewis, Wash. She died Dec. 31, 2000, at St. John's Hospital in Joplin from injuries sustained in a Dec. 24 car accident. A resident of Republic, she owned and operated a hair salon, "Cut Loose Hair Designs". She was active in her church and community. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Thomas Gann. Surviving are three children, Kristyn, Amanda and Chelsea; her husband, Allan Ray Martin; former husband, Rodney Alan Batson; former stepchildren, Ashley and Darrin; her mother of Springfield; her brother, Jimmy James of Kansas City, Kan.; and her maternal grandmother, Susan Gann of Licking. Services were Jan. 3 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brent Davis officiating. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery near Licking.
