William H. Taylor was born in Stark county, Ohio, June 15, 1846, a son of James B. and Sarah P. (Hall) Taylor. In 1863 enlisted in Co. A, 129th Ind. Inft., and was honorably discharged on August 29, 1865. In 1883 he graduated from the Keokuk Medical college in Iowa.
On August 4, 1867, in DeKalb County, Indiana he married Rocellia D. Beggs. To this union five children were born, Elwin E., Nellie and Carl and two children who died in infancy.
