Robert C. King, 77, 8707 Williams Road, North East, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at Rebecca's Personal Care Home in North East.
 
He was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Harborcreek, son of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Cass King.
 
He was a lifetime resident of the North East community.
 
A member of Greenfield Baptist Church in North East, he served as a deacon for 27 years, assistant Sunday School superintendent, trustee and sang in the choir for several years.
 
He was employed by General Electric for 22 years, retiring in 1985. He also had worked for Home Life Chain Saw Co. in Erie for nine years and owned and operated the family farm until 1953.
 
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Evans and Dorothy King; and a brother, John King.
 
Survivors include his wife, Maryle Mills King, whom he married Nov. 28, 1946; four daughters, Carol Thompson and her husband, Ted, and Jane Vogel and her husband, Paul, all of Wattsburg; Sue Meehl and her husband, Tom, of North East and Peggy Black and her husband, Jim, of Erie; a sister, Edith Archer of North East.
 
Burial will be at Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
