CHARLES IRWIN DIED THIS AFTERNOON
Corporation Counsel, Prominent Lawyer and Father of Mayor Roscoe Irwin, Expired After an Illness Lasting Several Weeks

Corportaion Counsel Charles Irwin died this afternoon at his home on Broadway after an illness of several weeks. He had been sick with pneumonia but had nearly recovered from that attack when Bright's disease developed.

Mr. Irwin was a native of Phillipsport, Sullivan county. When a young man he came to this city and studied law with Lawton & Stebbins and returned to Sullivan county, practicing law in Monticello. He served for a term as special county judge of Sullivan county. Mr. Irwin was a member of the Masonic, Odd Fellows, Knights of Pythias, and other fraternal organizations. He had served as corporation counsel since January 1, 1910. He is survived by a widow, one son, Mayor Roscoe Irwin, and one daughter.
