Horace Spencer
Sonora - Horace C. Spencer, a 50-year member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, died Thursday in a Riverbank hospital after a long illness. He was 91.
A native of Oregon, he lived in California since 1908, residing in Sonora for 23 years. He was a retired subdivider. He was a member of the Mount Horeb Odd Fellows Lodge in Ripon.
Services for the World War I U.S. Navy veteran will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Heuton Memorial Chapel under the auspices of the Odd Fellow's Sonora Lodge. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Odd Fellow Cemetery, Modesto.
He leaves two daughters, Doris Apland of Sonora and Dorothy Fink of Crows Landing; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
