Dennis Ankney died at his home in Benton township, Saturday night , January 18,1941.
Funeral services were held in St. James Lutheran church at Payne at two o'clock Tuesday. Burial in the Lehman cemetery southwest of Payne.
He is survived by his widow Mrs. Barbara Birkhold Ankney, four daughter Mrs. Vera Foreman.,Van Wert., Mrs. Esther Lehman,Akron., Mrs. Leona Copenhaver, Paulding and Maxine at home, on son Harry Ankney at home, seven grandchildren and two sisters Mrs. Ada Shonk,Sherwood and Mrs. Della Priest,Toledo.
When a young man Mr. Ankney lived in Paulding and followed the barber trade. He had many friends and was personally popular. About 23 years ago he moved to Benton township and engaged in farming and by industry and good management made a success of that business.
