One story says that Moses was run over and killed by a train in Bristow, Oklahoma when he was 96 years old. (details in newspaper clipping BWU Book)
-------
NOTE: I'm not sure about this spouse-Nancy Caroline Childers Murray-Barton (1863 - 1950)*-and I don't know who linked her to Moses??? There are several other Moses Barton's so I wish whomever added this would show documentation that he had this second spouse???Moses Barton was born in 1847 in Walker County, Alabama. He was the husband of Martha (Fry) Barton.
He was a Primitive Baptist preacher. Lived in the Abbot, Arkansas area of Black Jack Mountain.
He was the father of Reuben Barton.
On the 1920 United States Census, Moses (Moas-sic) was 72 years old and living in the Dayton Township of Sebastian County, Arkansas. Martha A. (Fry) Barton was his wife and Henry was still living with the couple. Moses was a fruit farmer by trade.
