Funeral Services For C.W. Wilburn Held At Eakly
EAKLY-Funeral services for C.W. Wilburn were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Eakly Methodist church with Rev. Donald Miller, pastor of the Oak Dale Baptist church, officiating. Rev. Harvey Hudson, El Reno, and Rev. Glen Balch, Eakly pastor, assisted. Burial was in the Alfalfa cemetery.
Wilburn died March 21 after being ill for some time. He was born November 15, 1862, at Harrison, Ark. He came with his family to Oklahoma in 1912 and had spent the past 25 years in and around the Oak Dale and Eakly communities. After his wife died in 1959, he had made his home with a daughter in Hinton. He was also preceded in death by a daughter in 1916.
He is survived by the daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Barbee, Hinton; three sons, Clyde and Clarence of Eakly and Henry of Torrance, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Oral Buie, L. Dean Buie, Burl Kennedy, Gerald Kenedy, Tom Schoolcraft jr. and Buddy Sims. Honorary bearers were Rufus Harris, Jim Bishop, Bill Griffin, Roy Lowrance, Ted Griffin, Claud Harris, Doyle Snow and Calvin Anderson.
