Luther Mahan Dies At Home in Lizton Saturday
Luther Mahan, age 85, life-long resident of the Lizton community, died at his home, Saturday afternoon, following a stroke on Thursday night. Funeral services were held at the Lizton Methodist church of which he was a member, Monday afternoon, in charge of the Rev. Rudolph Bangert.
Mr. Mahan was the son of Woodson and Cornelia Mahan, born December 23, 1859. He was married to Jane Burgin in 1884, and they were the parents of two children, Earl, deceased, and Merle, with whom he made his home. He has five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and a brother, Charles, who lives in Texas.
