Hoyt Seivers Member of South Clinton Baptist Hoyt Seivers, 73, of Clinton, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at Select Specialty Hospital in Knoxville.

He was an electrician who worked under several contractors and retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems on July 29, 1994, after 33 years of service.

He was a member of South Clinton Baptist Church, where he had served as chairman of the deacons.

He served with the U.S. Army from Sept. 1, 1950, until June 23, 1952, and was stationed at West Point, N.Y.

Hoyt was preceded in death by his parents, James Mack Seivers Sr. and Hassie Dale England Seivers, and two sisters-in-law, Mary Edna Rhea Moore and Norma Jean Rhea Crippen.

Mr. Seivers is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jane Rhea Seivers of Clinton; his children, Teresa and husband, Gary Parks, of Clinton, Wayne and wife, Libbye Seivers, of Athens, Cheryl and husband, Eddie Mayes, of Clinton, Michael Seivers of Clinton, and Alan and wife, Leigh Ann Seivers, of Clinton; his grandchildren, Keith and Shanda Parks of Oak Ridge, M J and Arnie Meredith of LaFollette, Tamra, Justin, and Tyler Mayes of Clinton, Megan and Joe Cook of Sweetwater, Savannah and Sophie Seivers of Clinton, Steve and wife, Michelle Mayes, of Maryville, Eddie Mayes Jr. of Knoxville, and another grandchild expected in March 2006; and his great-grand children, Sierra and Bryson Parks of Oak Ridge, Arnie, Bethany, and Clay "J.C." Meredith of LaFollette, and Peyton and Paige Cook of Sweetwater.

He is also survived by his brothers, James M. "Jiggs" Jr. and wife, Frankie Seivers, of Clinton, and Charles G. "Bones" and wife, Bettye Seivers, of Nashville; a brother-in-law, Fred Moore of Cincinnati, Ohio; his nieces and nephews, Dr. Lana Seivers of Nashville, Larry, Sally, Jennifer and Charlie Seivers of Louisville, David, Venessa, Chelsea and Evan Seivers of Franklin, Ben and Debbie Smith of Columbia, James, Justin and Austin Meredith of Clinton, Frank and Casey Meredith of Clinton, Darwyn Cox of Clinton, and Beverley and Sarah McDaniel of Cincinnati, Ohio; and his special friends, J.D. and Dot Queener, and Elaine Henderson, all of Clinton.

The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at South Clinton Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Howard, the Rev. George Williams, and the Rev. Roger Pugh officiating.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at Grandview Memorial Garden in Clinton.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.

Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of arrangements.
