Richard A. Balser, 70, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at his home after a short illness.
He was the husband of 32 years of Thelma J. (Rain) Balser.
Born in Burlington, he was the son of the late Frederick and Rebecca (Brewster) Balser and lived in Marlborough for 40 years.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as a carpenter by G&J Woodworking of Marlborough and previously worked for Wolf Coach of Northborough.
Besides his wife, he leaves three children, Richard M. Balser of Marlborough, Cecelia Jesseaume of Leominster and Sherri Balser of Marlborough; three sisters, Ethel Pratt of Northborough, Arlis Gould of Farmington, Maine, and Hazel Gordon of Chesterville, Maine; two grandchildren, Michael R. Jesseaume and Tyler C. Chaves; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.
Family and friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, Dec. 22, from 5 to 9 p.m., at the home of his daughter, Sherri, 219 Lincoln St. (second floor), Marlborough. The family requests memorial contributions in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
Arrangements are by William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., Marlborough.
