Lloyd Henderson

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at Musgrove Family Mortuary for Lloyd Russell Henderson of Eugene, who died Aug. 15 of cancer at age 74. Inurnment will be later at Gillespie Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 6, 1935, in Marcola to Stephen and Dollie Fisher Henderson. He married Beverly Gillespie on Aug. 29, 1959, in Eugene.

He attended school in Crow and Mapleton, and earned his GED from Lane Community College. He served in the Navy on the USS Shelton during the Korean War. He worked for 30 years as a laborer in heavy construction, helping to build many buildings in Lane County.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jeanette "Jenny" Henderson of Eugene and Cindy Avalio of Brush Prairie, Wash.; a sister, Viola Keffer of Eugene; a brother, Harold of Eugene; and four grandchildren.
