Ida Mae Young

Hendersonville - Ida M. Young, of 824 Third Ave. West, entered into eternal rest Thursday, August 12, 2010. A native of Laurens, S.C. and resident of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Lillie Mae Dendy Bailey. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, George, Leonard and Willie Bailey Jr.

Mrs. Young retired from Belk-Simpson Dept. Store. She was a member of Star of Bethel Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess.

Surviving are her husband, Harold Young; daughters, Betty A. Young and S. Lynn Young of Hendersonville; brothers, Melvin Bailey (Alice) and Sam Bailey of Greenville, S.C.; sisters, Geneva Hall and Hedy Sullivan of Asheville, Bessie Jennings of Hendersonville, Henrietta Bailey of Greenville, S.C. and Rhunette Bailey of Washington, D.C.; other relatives and friends.

The service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Star of Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. C.E. Rowe will officiate, burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence.
