The death of Ten Eyck Clark Parshall,
one of the, best known and most highly
esteemed residents of Cooperstown, occurred
at about 11 o'clock, Friday night of last week, at his home on Railroad avenue. Mr. Parshall had been in ill health throughout the winter, and his death, which resulted from angina pectoris, brought a keen sense of loss to a wide circle of friends throughout the community.

Mr. Parshall was the son of the late Robert and Catherine (Howland) Parshall and he was born in Pierstown June 16, 1862. After attending public school in this locality, in 1886, he went to Fort Plane where he acted as steward at the Clinton Cliberal Institute untill 1901 when that educational institution was destroyed by fire. Mr. Parshall later returned to Cooperstown and for nine years acted as manager of the Brookwood Point Farm for Mrs. Edgar T. Chapman. He became manager of the Iroquois Poultry Farm in July 1913 and continued in that position untill his retirement September 1, 1931.

from his youth he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cooperstown and he was also an active member of the Mohican club. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was deeply interested in the work of that fraternity and occupied an eminent position in a number of its branches. He was raised as a Master Mason in Otsego Lodge No 138, F. & A. M., February 1 1887, and would have been eligible for fifty-year honors in less than a year.

He was also a member of Otsego Chapter, No 26, R. A. M, and was the first Prelate and a Past Commander of Otsego Commandery, No 76. Knights Templar of Cooperstown, in the organization of which he was one of the prime movers, having transferred his membership here from Little Falls Commandery with which he had previously been affiliated. He was also a member of Ziyara Temple, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, and of Mohawk Valley Consistory, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Masons of Utica.

A man of unimpeachable character and strict integrity of strong convictions but generous and kindly nature, he was a firm and helpful friend, a pleasant companion and sterling citizen, whose memory will always be revered in this community.

He was twice married. His first wife was Minnie Burnham of Springfield Center. Following her death he was united in marriage in August, 1899, with Mrs. Belle Barnum of Cooperstown, who survives, together with one sister. Mrs. Jay Webb of Cooperstown and one brother, Lee Parshall of Corfu, Mrs. Leon H. Ellsworth of Cooperstown is a step-daughter.

A large concourse of sorrowing friends paid final tribute to the diseased at the funeral services which were held at the home, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. H. M. Pease, pastor of the baptist church, officiated.

Ten Past Commanders of the Otsego Commandery No. 76 Knights Templar, Clyde S. Becker, Eugene Becker, Ellra J. Ballard, Harry H. Ballard, Alfred R. Cobbett, Geroge H. Carley, B. G. Johnson, Harris J. Cooke, M. E. Lippit and Charles Kopfman, in full templar uniform acted as an escort to Lakewood Cemetery, where the committal services were in charge of Otsego Masonic Lodge, which had assembled there in a body.

The bearer were six Master Masons, William Beattie, Harrison B Converse, Herbet L. Kimbal, Howard N. Michaels, Robert J. Smith, and David H. Willsey.
