Death of G. W. Hawver - Mr. G.W. Hawver, well-known in this vicinity and city, died at his residence on the east side yesterday morning (another notice said of heart disease). Mr. Hawver was born in Otsego County, NY, in 1822. He came to Black Hawk County in 1864, and for a number of years resided on the farm occupied by his son, and known as Hawver's Grove. He afterwards moved to this city. He was twice married, the last time to Miss Hattie May, who survives him, and three children are also living - L.M. Hawver of East Waterloo, A.B. Hawver, of Sioux City, and Carrie Hawver. Two sisters and a brother of deceased also survive - Mrs. R.O. Southmayd, of this city, Mrs. C.I. Bigsby, of Whittier, Cal., and Samuel Hawver, of Omaha. Mr. Hawver was a good man, a good citizen in the broadest sense of the term, a kindly and affectionate husband and father. He lived and honorable, unostentatious life, and will be sincerely mourned by a large circle of friends. The funeral will be held at Grace M.E. Church tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Presiding Elder Church, of Cedar Falls officiating.
