She continued her education to receive both a Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree in Education along with a Post Baccalaureate in Special Education. As a published author, Melissa has left a lasting impression impact on the development of the young lives she touched early in her teaching career. She is survived by her loving parents, John R. and Janis Browning; special sister of Barrett (Hildy), Kevin (Kathy), Michael (Jeanne), Timothy, Christopher (Jennifer) Benjamin and Angela (Jeff). Melissa is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and she will be welcomed home by many others. Melissa had a passion to share her creativity and wisdom and held a great love for young learner. In preference to flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Melissa's name at Elm Creative School for the Arts. Missy will be remembered with a smile by everyone who knew her. When Meilssa was asked what she wanted people to know, she said, "I am genuine in being my self and I never imitate anyone else." Her family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Rest Haven for their care and compassion shown throughout the years.
