Mr. Ball, a native of Simpson County, was well-known as an eduator, having served one term as county superintendent of education and then as superintendent of outstanding schools of the county. At the time of his death, he was county welfare agent. He was a Methodist, and served as chairman of the board of stewards for a number of years, and was a teacher of one of the adult classes.
Death came to Mr. Ball one week after he was removed to his home from a Jackson hospital where he had undergone an operation in November.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hattie Rogers Ball; one daughter, Mrs. Tom Dungan of Indianola; his mother, Mrs. Pauline Hilton Ball of Star; three brothers, Drewery and Milton Ball of Jackson, and Wiley Ball of Star; and three grandchildren.
