Funeral services for Raymond Lloyd Fields, 79, were held January 16, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church here with the Rev. Delbert V. Terry in charge.
He passed away Tuesday, January 12, at the Red Oak Hospital after an illness of eight months.
A resident of Emerson most of his life, he was a retired auxiliary engineer for Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. Zachary Fields, he was born March 6, 1891 at Sutherland and in 1913 was married to Amanda Thoron who survives.
Other survivors include a son, Norman, Emerson and two daughters, Mrs. Otto (Anna Jean) Middaugh of Winter Haven, Florida and Mrs. W. C. (Nadine) Merritt of Orange Park, Florida, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. George Haglund, Red Oak.
Mr. Fields was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Community Club here.
Burial was in the Emerson Cemetery with Sellergren Lindell Funeral Home of Red Oak in charge.
Mrs. Middaugh and Mrs. Merritt came to attend the services.
All bearers were Marion Lang, Vance White, Home Connell, W. M. Shepard, Marvis Warren, Darwin Hascall.
Mrs. Richard Steen was the organist and accompanied Frederick Larson, soloist.
Floral offerings were cared for by Mrs. Ray Huntsman, Mrs. Harold Sowers, Mrs. Marvin Warren, and Mrs. Darwin Hascall.
Earl Crawford and Cecile Wax serves as ushers.
