Frank Mumford, 72, died at 6:20 pm Monday in St. Anthony Hospital in Terre Haute, where he had been a patient for 12 hours.
He was born November 27, 1892 in Clark County, the son of John and Phoebe Beasley Mumford. He was married to Maude Opal Sherman on December 30, 1914, in Casey. Surviving are the widow, Maude; four sons, Carl of Denver, Pearl and Denver of Casey, Ronald of Lawrence, Kansas; four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Weber of Littleton, Colorado, Mrs. Rosalie Blankenbaker of Casey; Mrs. Lillian Hoppe of Thorton, Colorado and Mrs. Eleanor Stifal of Casey; two brothers, Charles of Eaton, Illinois, and Elmer of Littleton, Colorado; two sisters, Mrs. Grover Hartman and Mrs. Denzil Mitchell, both of Casey; 19 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Thursday from the First Christian Church with Rev. Jesse Dunn officiating, and burial will be at the Washington Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the Markwell Funeral home after noon on Wednesday and visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
