AGE: 54 BARNEGAT

Walton E. Britton, 54, of Barnegat, passed away Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.

Born in Toms River, he was a longtime resident of Ocean County, moving to Barnegat two years ago.

He was a security guard for many years and later worked for Mantoloking Taxi in Brick as a driver and dispatcher. Walt enjoyed attending wrestling matches and was an avid baseball fan.

He was predeceased by his parents, John Harry and Carrie Britton; his brother, Harry; and his sister, Patricia Soto.

Surviving are his children, Tammy, Mary, Walton "Augie", Steven, Todd and Joni; four brothers, John, Joseph, Robert and William; his two sisters, Myrtle Soto and Barbara Bunnell; his dear friend, Elma Evans; and 14 adored grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19 at the Old Whiting Cemetery, Whiting.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Britton family to assist with these difficult times
