Angier - Betty Pleasant Matthews, 79, of Angier died peacefully at home, Tuesday, November 29, 2011.She was born August 26, 1932 in Angier to the late Richard J. and Almetre S. Pleasant. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lee Pleasant, Lois Hughes, Velma Lewter, Edna Hurt, Carl Pleasant, Willie Ray Pleasant and Charles Pleasant.
She was a loving wife and mother, devoted Christian and the best Granny to any child she encountered.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 2, 2011 at Neills Creek Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Harnett Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Linwood A. Matthews; children, Debra Lynne and husband, Larry Rollins; Jerry A. Matthews and wife, Terri, four grandchildren, Stacey Rollins Thompson and husband Lee; Julie Rollins Wilson and husband Danny; Amber Matthews; and Jonathan Matthews; and six great-grandchildren, Chloee, Bianca, Logan, Lana, Peyton and Callie; sister-in-law, Thelma Pleasant.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.
