Ollean Howell, 92, of Alexandria, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019, at Community Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Ollean was born on March 21, 1927, in Prescott, Arkansas, the daughter of Clyde E. and Vergie (Lamb) Sutton. On Feb. 3, 1965, she married William "Bill" Howell.
She was a homemaker, she had waitressed for many years, was employed for eight years as a cook at the Alexandria Intermediate School and had been a Avon sales representative for over 20 years.
She attended the First Christian Church in Alexandria.
Left to carry on her legacy of love are her husband of 54 years, William "Bill" Howell; sons, Calvin Howell and Jimme Collins; daughters, Angela Overman, Amy (David) Hedgecraft, Wanda Collins, Charlene Benoit; brother, James Sutton; sisters, Louise Wright, Ruby Slone, Ruth Douglas. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edmond Sutton, Cohen Sutton and Orville Sutton; sisters, Dorothy Ford, Elsie Sutton and Patsy Romero.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Whetsel Funeral Service, 1503 S. Park Ave., Alexandria. Cremation will follow.
