Audrey P. Ray age 83 of Fayetteville died August 9, 2010 at St. Simeon's Episcopal Home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was born September 14, 1926 in Lake Providence, Louisiana to Charles and Alma Peters.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband George W. Ray and her eight siblings.
Survivors include her daughter Roni Ray and her husband Kelvin Bertschy of Fayetteville, two sons Jeffrey Ray and wife JoAnn of Baton Rouge, LA and Thomas Ray and wife Catherine of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren Amy Redwine, Kelley Hermann, Catherine Thomas and Nathaniel Ray, one great granddaughter Audrey Redwine.
Audrey was an active member of the Air Force Officers Wives Club. As a longtime resident of Fayetteville, Audrey had many friends associated with the University of Arkansas History Department and other community groups. She was a devoted volunteer for the Washington Regional Medical Center Auxiliary for over 20 years having served a term as president of the Auxiliary as well as other positions. Audrey was an enthusiastic Razorback fan and a member of the Lady Razorback Supporters.
Graveside service was 11:00 AM Wednesday August 18, 2010 at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fayetteville under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville.
