Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, in Belvedere
Memorial Park with the Rev. Paul Terry officiating. Arrangements are
by Johnson's Funeral Home.
Shirley was born March 16, 1939, in Iraan to J.P. and Viola Cox. In
1941 the family moved to San Angelo where she graduated from Lake View
High School. On June 8, 1956, Shirley married her soul mate, Glenn
Alsup in San Angelo.
Shirley worked for Webb, Stokes and Sparks as a legal assistant. She
was a member of Southland Baptist Church and a true believer.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, J.P. Cox and daughter,
Sherri Sharp.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn, of San Angelo; her mother,
Viola Cox of San Angelo; daughter, Lorri Satterfield of San Angelo; a
son, Brandon Alsup of San Angelo; grandchildren, Brooke Laird, Rebecca
Sharp, Brian Sharp, Josh Hash and Zack Hash; sister, Marilyn McEwen
and husband, Harold, of San Angelo; sister-in-law, Pat Cox and
husband, Bob, of San Angelo; niece, Michelle Simon and husband, Key;
and nephew, Robby Thornton of Austin.
She left behind many friends who will always remember her humor,
kindness, love and her faith in God. She will be truly missed by all
who had the privilege of being a part of her life. We express a
special thank you to Susie Lopez, Jean Slaughter and Shirley's
guardian doctor, Dr. David Welch.
It is requested that memorials be made to Hospice of San Angelo.
