Candy Marlene Bishop Hughes, 50, devoted mother to Courtney Renee Hughes, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2010. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Please come dressed casually to the service. Visitation: The family Will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Safehaven Tarrant County Battered Women's Shelter. Candy was born March 25, 1960, in Tulare, Calif. She moved to Fort Worth at the age of 4 and graduated from Eastern Hills High School in 1978. Early in her career, she worked for Moody Printing. Being very resourceful and hard-working, Candy later started her own successful businesses. She lived life to the fullest, but always kept her focus on her beloved daughter, Courtney Renee. She was preceded in death by her husband and Courtney's father, Jimmy Hughes, and her stepfather, Warren Isham. Survivors: Daughter, Courtney; stepdaughter, Tracey Hughes; father, Jim Bishop and his wife, Marilyn; mother, Frances Isham; sister, LeeAnn Grissett and her husband, Boyd; brother, John Bishop; niece, Shelby Grissett; nephew, Cole Grissett; aunts, uncles, cousins and grandchildren; and many, many wonderful friends.
