Henry McCord Thompson died Sunday.17th August 2003. Henry was born in 146, Watsonville Motherwell. He was the second born of three sons to Robert and Elizabeth, Henry's father was a coal miner.
Henry or Harry as he was known to his family and friends was an easy going kind of man who believed in working for a living, he had various jobs during his working life, the first that I can remember was as an overhead crane operator with Findlay & Son in Muir Street Motherwell. Next as a cable jointer with the street lighting department, and finally as a storeman with the South of Scotland Electricity Board in Leven Street Motherwell, where he worked until his retirement.
