Samuel was the youngest son of Samuel and Martha Haley.

He Married 1: Sally Bartlett 15 March 1820.

Children of Samuel and Sally Haley:
1. Eleanor (died young)
2. Rufus (1823-1895), married Jennie Tredick, Ch: Frank and Mattie. Fruit&Produce Co. Buried in Pine Hill Cemetery Dover];
3. Abigail b. 18 Apr 1827- d. 17 Oct 1888; married John Bartlett Dec. 15, 1856; 2 sons: Frank, Samuel
4. Francis G. (died young)
5. Sarah Elizabeth (1833 - 1912), married Joseph Cilley Burley
6. Martha Ann (Mattie/Martha) b. Dec 1837, died: 20 Nov 1899; married Augustus B. Burwell in 1866. Had 2 Children named: Sarah Lillian Burwell (b. March 29, 1869 in Chelsea) & Arthur Augustus Burwell (b. 1870), AAB.

On Sarah Lilliam Burwell's birth certificate, her father is a "Supt." and listed as being born in Chelsea, and mother Martha was born in Epping, NH. I do not know if SLB married or where she is buried.

Arthur Augustus Burwell married Laura Caroline Monks in Chelsea, MA on Oct. 15, 1896 when they were each age 25. He was from Dover, NH, a packer in a shoe factory. She was from Chelsea, with occupation as "None." According the their marriage certificate, AAB was born in Chelsea, MA, and she in Plymoth, MA. AAB is buried in New Haven, CT, FAG # 103428409, with his wife.


[The graves of Abigail Haley Bartlett, Mattie Ann Haley Burwell and Sarah Lillian Burwell (married who?) have not been found. If anyone finds them, please let me know.]

The family still has an 1845 spelling book, signed by "Miss Martha A. Haley, Epping, N.H." [aka "Mattie" Ann Haley Burwell.]

Samuel Haley Married 2: Mary A. Hannaford b. 1813 Newmarket d. 02 Jul 1903 Franklin (former wife of Ebenezer Chapman). She is buried in Franklin, NH.

Samuel Haley Death Certificate shows his occupation as Farmer. Cause of death: Congestion of liver and "inability" of stomach.
