Elmor Albert Buth, 92, of Crawford, died late Saturday afternoon, Aug. 14, 2010, in McGregor. Graveside services and interment will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at St. Paul Memorial Park under the direction of Cole Funeral Home in McGregor, with Pastor Tom Beers officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Elmor was born to the late Otto and Matilda Hulda (Mueller) Buth in Coryell City, Texas, where he attended school. He married Myrtle Beatrice Westerfield in Coryell City on Sept. 4, 1940. In 1947, they moved to Crawford from Coryell City. Much of his life was devoted to farming in the Crawford area. For 20 years, he was employed by McLennan County as a heavy equipment operator prior to his 1979 retirement. Throughout the years, Elmor was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where, for many years, he and Myrtle served the church as custodians. He enjoyed farming, playing dominos and woodworking.

Preceding him in death was his wife of 65 years on Nov. 23, 2005; brother, Raymond Buth; and sisters, Arnell Streumpler, Laverne Krempin and Winnie Buth.

Survivors include sons, Jimmy Buth, of McGregor, Doug Buth, of Crawford, and Pat Buth, of Speegleville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other family members and friends.
