Carol Lateen Turley

TREMONTON, UT - Carol Larsen Turley, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday morning, April 22, 2007.
Carol was born February 17, 1935 in Tremonton, the ~
first child of Ruth Wight and Cecil James Larsen. She lived as a child in Park Valley, Box Elder County, where
she was much loved by her fathers family, especially her grandmother, Luella Larsen.
She later moved with her family to Tremonton and graduated from Bear River High School in 1953. She married Reese Turley in the Logan LDS Temple on January 5, 1955. They lived in Tremonton and also farmed in Pocatello Valley in Box Elder County. They moved to Royal City, WA in the early 1960s. They were later divorced and Carol returned to her home town, Tremonton, to live.
She worked at Kents grocery and was a volunteer at the Bear River Valley Hospital. She was a member of several civic and literary groups and provided service to the members. She also wrote news and columns for the Tremonton Leader and the Royal City Capsule in Washington. She served on the Trernonton Planning Commission.
Carol loved the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous church positions in many wards. She served a mission for the church in western Washington and Oregon in 1990-91.
Carol was always outgoing and cheerful and maintained friendships with many people she met while seraing her church mission and numerous neighbors and friends in Washington and Utah. But most of all, Carol was dedicated to her three daughters and two sons who survive her: Cathy (John) John) ,bb, Ellensburg. WA; Pat Turley, South Jordan; Carol Lee (Gordon) Gordon) Jones, Farm- ington, Jon Turley, Kent, WA; Dave (Erica) Turley, Issaquah, WA; and another beloved son, Jimmy Turley, who preceded her in death. She also enjoyed watching her 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren grow and was proud of all their accomplishments.
She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Rick McKinnon, Park City. Her parents and her. brother, Scott Larsen, and sister, Judy Larsen Tanner, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Tremonton 8th LDS Ward chapel, 9590 North 6800 West, Tremonton. - Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East
