Fresia came from a family or artists. Her mother, Mercedes and her sisters, Ana and Sara, once formed the group, "Trio del Pulgar," well known to cosmopolitan audiences who delighted Washington music lovers with their playing. Fresia's only brother, Santiago's talent was in linguistics, speaking several languages fluently, including Spanish (as his first language,) French, English, Portuguese, and German.

Fresia followed in her father's footsteps. Jaques was a well-known portrait artist in Chili, France and in the US.

Fresia studied under the great French painter, Lucien Simon at the Beaux Arts in Paris; under Angel zarraga, at the Fraude Chaumiere, also in Paris; and she also visited Spain and Italy with her father going through all museums and galleries.

Fresia was noted as having her own painting technique, and as one noted critic stated, "Not being at all over-optimistic, he predicted that she would rank among the most popular portrait painters in Washington." She was.

A few of her subjects were Mrs. Robert Billham, wife of Paramount Pictures' publicity manager, Countess Heleve de Saint Brieux, and Baroness E. Djekouska.

Fresia was married to Charles Francois Georges Monnet, son of Francois X.A. and Maria (Roy) Monnet.

Georges, as he was known, worked in the family business as a cognac distiller and was from Cognac, Charente, France. He was also cousin to Jean Monnet (1888-1979), the diplomat.
