Brother to Francis Marion Hux

An entry on a piece of paper wrote down by Mary Catherine Hux and given to my grandmother, Violet Ludie Estella Fritz, says that Benjamin Ruffus Hux was born 10 Apr 1847. No place was given. Something interesting that Grandma told me about her grandfather, that her mother told her. When Ben Hux was a small boy,he and one of his friends found a set of plates that you make money with, of course they were counterfit. They decided they would make a few bills and try and spend them. After they made a few, Ben went to the store and bought some candy, handed the clerk one of the bills and the clerk gave him his change. Ben ask the clerk if he didn't think there was something wrong with the bill he had. The clerk took the bill turned it over and looked at it and said it looked like money to him. Then Ben told the clerk what they had done and then destroyed the plates. Benjamin Hux must have been a very honest person to do that.
