VARNA: Lena Mattilou Smith Robinson, 92, formerly of Varna, died at 1:23 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Heritage Manor in Minonk, IL.

Born June 19, 1908, in Clebume County, Alabama, to Frank and Vinnie Yarborough Smith, she married Lewis Henry Robinson on February 14, 1926. He died February 6, 1981.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Harold; one grandson; six brothers; and three sisters.

Surviving are three sons, Bill of Millbury, Ohio, Ernest of Toluca and Doyle of Lacon; four daughters, Eunice Rogers of Lawrenceburg, TN, Harriet Epley of Spring Bay, Charlotte Flanagan of Downsville, LA, and Kay Vignali of Maple Grove, MN; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She had been a seamstress at Toluca Garment Factory for 17 years.

She was a member of Varna United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon, IL, where visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Brad McFaul will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery # 2 in rural Varna.

Memorials may be made to any charity.
