Chapin - Funeral services for Alvin Leroy Huffstetler, 85, will be held at New Life Community Church at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2008, with interment in Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Christian Life Assembly of God (designated to 7:13 ministries), 2700 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210. Mr. Huffstetler, born in Chapin, SC, September 17, 1922, passed away Friday, April 4, 2008. He was a son of the late Adgy and Estell Mayor Huffstetler. Mr. Huffstetler was a World War II veteran and a truck driver. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His five great-grandchildren were his joy. Mr. Huffstetler is survived by his wife, Freeda Huffstetler of Chapin; son, Rick Huffstetler of Chapin; daughter, Sharon (Bobby) Kestner of Chapin; brother, K.C. Huffstetler of Elloree; sisters, Lorene Stoudemire of Chapin and Vera Puckett of Lexington; grandchildren, McKinley Kestner, Lori Contreras, Lonnie Huffstetler, Micah Kestner and Jacob Huffstetler; great-grandchildren, Colton Goodwin, Alex Goodwin, Marcus Contreras, Nicholas Contreras and Blake Kestner. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Leigh Kestner.
