Mary was a daughter of Abraham Lape and Hannah Sleek. She married Edward Dorsey Bowen, they had two sons, Harry Edward Bowen and Benjamin F. Bowen, who passed a few months after his mother. Benjamin was about 2 weeks old when Mary passed.
