"Ethel Yockey Stricken
"Mrs. Ethel Yockey, 72, wife of William Yockey, died about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bartholomew county hospital. Mrs. Yockey lived at 1138 Central and had been ill three years.
"Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Reed funeral home with burial at the Garland Brook cemetery. The Rev. Charles Russell, pastor of the Wertz Memorial Evangelical United Brethren church, where she was a member, will read the rites. Persons may call after 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
"Born Feb. 5, 1892, in the Beam homestead near Columbus, she was the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Gibson Beam. She was married to Mr. Yockey, Dec.. 19, 1919. Mrs. Yockey attended Columbus high school and Columbus Business college.
"Also surviving are four daughters, Misses June and Laura Yockey, both at home, Mrs. Rosemary Derring of El Monte, Calif., and Mrs. Claude Knoy of 1724 Beam road; two brothers, Howard Beam of 1538 Pearl street and Ben H. Beam of 2722 Seventeenth street; a sister, Mrs. Edna Burns of 1538 Pearl street, and four grandchildren."
