-- When Garleen journeyed up to Heaven’s Gate, the Lord said "What was your strength?" She replied, "Love and compassion"...and she was led in by the hand of the Lord.

Garleen passed away peacefully with her devoted family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Daniels; her youngest son, Stephen B. Daniels; her youngest daughter, Donna Jean Baldwin; her first grandson, Nicholas Dyan Pselos; her mother and father, Beatrice and Joseph Snyder; and sisters, Virginia Gordon, Frankie Yates and Prescilla Funderburk.

A textile worker, Garleen loved to garden and care for her many pets. After retirement, she devoted her time to her church, Friendship United Methodist, for over 30 years. She was an avid Lay Speaker and led many to know God and put Him in their life. She also was a Kairos Teacher and a leader in her Mary Martha Circle. She was the first to volunteer for any new projext to help the church and those in her community.

Garleen is survived by three daughters, Nancy Pselos, Theresa Daniels and Janie Burnelle (Ed); her son, Michael Daniels (Gae), of Concord, NC; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She will be missed by her many friends and her loving family, near and far. She shed light in her family’s life when there was sorrow or darkness and always said, "This is not forever–a brighter day is coming!" She was truly her family’s hero.
