Funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. Jim Cooper officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Killbuck Cemetery at Killbuck, with military rites being conducted by the Killbuck VFW.
He was born on March 1, 1931, and was the son of Daniel James and Mary (Dent) Meehan. He worked 40 years for Rice-Chadwick Rubber Co. of Killbuck, retiring in 1994. He attended the Killbuck United Methodist Church. David was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Killbuck VFW as well as the Millersburg American Legion.
Surviving are children, Mary Ellen Proper of Stillwell, Donald Meehan of Killbuck, Ronald Meehan of Glenmont, Barb Cappon of Big Prairie, Daniel James Meehan of Killbuck, and adopted daughter, Crissy Meehan of Danville; his fiancee, Gertrude Renfrew of Killbuck; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Grassbaugh of Mount Vernon.
He was preceded in death by an adopted son, John Meehan; brothers, James Meehan and Chuck Shaw; and a sister, Helen Hawkins.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Killbuck United Methodist Church.
