Together they had eight children: Mary Barbara Hopperdietzel Fletcher, Henry August (wife Mae Barbara Bruening), Ellen Adeline Hopperdietzel Doering Schaefer, Grace Alice Hopperdietzel Smith, Walter George (wife Alice V. Kramer), Lucille Ann Hoperdietzel Baneck, Robert (died at 6 months old), and Dorothy Mae Hopperdietzel Ewan.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Fletcher and family, Jean, Harriet, Richard and Rae Ellen, 624 South Minnesota avenue, attended the funeral Monday of John Hopperdietzel, 65, who died at his home at Athens Friday morning. Services were held at Trinity Lutheran church with Rev. Richard Maiotky officiating. Mr. Hopperdietzel, who was Mrs. Fletcher's father, is survived by his widow and seven children.
