Civil War Veteran - Enlisted September 18, 1862, at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Mustered into Company K, 16th Regiment, Pennsylvania Cavalry (Union). Battles, Skirmishes and Engagements: At Camp Casey, near Bladensburg, Md., till January 3, 1863. Battle of Brandy Station, Battle of Gettysburg, Battle of Cold Harbor, Siege of Petersburg, Appomattox Campaign, Battle of Appomattox Court House. Surrender of Lee and his army. Moved to Lynchburg, Va., and duty there and in the Dept. of Virginia. Mustered out June 17, 1865. Widow Pension on October 29, 1909.
