Ola E. was the daughter of John Monroe and Tryphena Manerva Allen Long. She died of appendicitis at the age of 19 years old.She had auburn curley hair and was beautiful and very intelligent. She was engaged to marry Fred Butcher. Ola knew she was going to die long before she got sick. She wrote her sister Belle and told her. She also kept telling the family at home she would never marry as she wouldn't be here long.
When she got sick the family doctor Dr. Talley was called but he couldn't diagnose her illness.Finally Dr. Ryan was called and he told them what it was but it was too late. She died of a ruptured appendix. The family took her death very hard and because of that went ahead and buried her and had the funeral several days later. Fred her fiance continued to visit Ola's family and they would talk of her and grieve.
