Although the death year on the slab reads 1893, the 1892 newspaper obituary gives proof of the correct year.
Also Confederate Widow's Pension Application shows death date as January 20, 1892.
"The LaFayette Sun" - February 3, 1892:

Thomas B. Leverett was born in Putnam County, Georgia, November 27th, 1819. His father moved to Troup County, Georgia, about 1836, and from there to Chambers, where he spent his life. Thomas B. Leverett was married October 2nd, 1845, to Mary Ann Atkinson; eight children were the fruits of this marriage, five of whom still live. Mr. Leverett, from early manhood was a member of the Baptist Church and in that faith he died, January 20th, 1892. He was a great lover of Masonry and appreciated very highly the exalted teaching of that ancient Order. Mr. Leverett was an industrious man and his was a busy life. A kind husband and father, a clever neighbor and patriotic citizen, he lived a long life and fulfilled his mission. He will be missed by his church, his lodge and his neighbors; but worst of all will be missed around the hearthstone when the family gather day after day. A fitting tribute was paid to his memory the day his body was laid to rest. In the meeting house he loved, many relatives and friends gathered about his encoffined body and dropt a tear at his grave. Dr. Bledsoe, the pastor, preached an appropriate sermon, when the Masons took charge of the body and buried it according to their ancient rites. Dear old friend and brother, rest in peace!
