Lovina (Lavina) was born to Jeremiah and Susan Siders Stroup in Berrien Co. MI. She married Sylvester Behney January 12, 1881, in Niles, Berrien Co. MI. He was the son of Christopher Behney and Elizabeth "Eliza" Eckler of Pine Grove, Schuylkill Co. PA.
Sylvester and Lovina had no children. She was survived by half-siblings - Mary Ann Hoffhein (George) Eckler and David Hoffhein. After Sylvester's death in 1917, Lavina married William Halliday on August 3, 1920 in South Bend, IN. They would have eight years together.
