Funeral services for Neta Lauina Conder, 88, of Killeen, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen, with Pastor Russ Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Killeen City Cemetery.
Conder passed away Dec. 22, 2008, in Harker Heights. She was born Dec. 24, 1919, in Boaz, to Noah and Viola Crain Hopson.
Conder lived all her life in the area. She graduated from Killeen High School, where she was selected Miss Killeen in 1935. She married her childhood sweetheart Ivy Conder Jr. on Oct. 29, 1938. She was a homemaker and she worked with her husband on the farm for many years.
In later years, she worked for Lawrence's Super Market and for Sears for 28 years. She was a blessing to the community, and she cared for many elderly people by cooking and providing them with care and companionship.
Conder was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 64 years in 2002; and three brothers, Willis, Aubrey and Estelle Hopson.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Conder Perdue and her husband Edwin; her granddaughter, Rikke Bright and her husband Thayne; her grandson, Jesse Bright; her brother-in-law, Ennis Conder and his wife Dorothy; and her sister-in-law, Teresia Schroder.
Arrangements are entrusted to Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
