b. 23 September 1909, Putnam Co., TN – d. 17 September 2001, White Co., TN, md Ursa (Stamps) Maddux, b. 17 February 1904 – d. 1 June 1996. Lawrence P. Maddux, s/o Lewis Dow Maddux (1882-1969) & Margaret Arizona Allison (1883-1979).

COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Lawrence P. Maddux, 91, of Nashville, formerly of Cookeville, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Friday, Sept. 21, at the funeral home.
Mr. Maddux died on Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at White County Hospital.
He was born on Sept. 23, 1909, in Putnam County to the late Dow and Margaret A. Allison Maddux. Mr. Maddux was a fabric salesman and a member of Donelson Free Will Baptist Church.
His family includes three brothers, Clifford and Leonard Maddux, both of Cookeville, and Eugene Maddux of Agoura, Calif.; two sisters, Christine Quinn of Dearborn Heights, Mich., and Elsie Peterson of Ferndale, Mich.; a granddaughter, Judy Adcox of Mt. Juliet; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ursa Stamps Maddux, and a brother, Ralph R. Maddux.
