It was on June 19, 1915, in Corinth, Texas that Will and Nora Pockrus were made the glad parents of a son, H. W. "Pete" Pockrus. Pete grew up knowing the value of hard work and treating people right. Later in his life, Pete met a lovely girl that he fell in love with. Alice Blagg and Pete Pockrus were to be joined in marriage October 13, 1940. Only this past October, they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with about 300 friends and family coming together to congratulate them and wish them well. To this happy union was given two very special gifts: two children---Dennis and Anita. Pete's joy and pride of two wonderful children could only be doubled when he became a grandfather of three grand-children and one great grandchild. For 45 years, Pete owned and operated H. W. "Pete" Pockrus Water Well Drilling, Pump Service and Sales here in Denton. His work was something that he loved and fave of himself to his customers. Pete was a member of Bethel Temple Church. In his homecoming, he leaves behind his wife Alice; his son and daughter Dennis and Anita; his two sisters, Cecil Hilger and Edna Harris; a half-brother Marvin Oliver; and three grandchildren and one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
