The Wellington Leader June 1, 1939

S. N. Royal, well known in the Dodson community, died Saturday morning, May 20, at the home of his son, Otis Royal, of the O. M. community. He died after an illness of a few weeks.

Funeral services were conducted at the O. M. Church of Christ Sunday afternoon. He was buried in the O. M. cemetery by the side of his wife, who preceded him in death by twenty and one-half months.

Mr. Royal formerly lived at Hollis, but after his wife's death, he made his home with his son. He was 78 years of age. He was born December 8, 1860, in Hunt county, Texas. He moved to Montague county in 1872. From 1913 to 1922, he made his home at Dodson.

These children survive: Mrs. Bessie Hardy of Devine; Burley Royal of Hollis; Henry Royal of Farwell; Mrs. Mabel Perkins of Hollis; Otis Royal of Hollis; Mrs. Ruth Mae Hunt of Dodson; and Mrs. Annie Lee Kellison of Wellington. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
