Laid to Rest In Mt. Hope.
SANBORN, Mar. 10—Funeral service
for Edison P. Mt. Pleasant, age
43, who died Thursday, was held
Sunday at 11 a. m. at the Baptist
church, Tuscarora Reservation, with
an unusually large attendance.
Rev. Frank N. Taft officiated. The
bearers were Elton Green, Seymore
Johnson, Elmer Mt. Pleasant, Jr.,
Harry Patterson, Samson Patterson
and Allen Printup. Interment was In
Mt. Hope cemetery on the Reservation
Mr. Mt. Plcasont was one of the Indians
who ran to Washington, D C,
to invite the president to attend the
Fort Niagara celebration and reopening.
He graduated from Carlisle Indian Industrial School in Pennsylvania in 1911. He married Rebecca Thompson and they had Edison Perry Jr and Eldred Huntington Mt Pleasant.
